When importing a file from the 2008 Eligible Plant List and Plant Price Schedule (EPLPPS) or the 2008 Nursery Appraisal Software, the extension on the file name will be .xp4 or .xc4 respectively.
A file from the 2008 EPLPPS or the 2008 Nursery Appraisal Software will be converted using the 2009 current plant prices and will show previous quantities and catalog prices. An "Import Exception Report" will be generated and can be previewed or printed prior to the file import if there are any variations in plant name, changes in county hardiness zone, in-ground hardiness zone, or container storage requirement zones. Plant names will appear on the "Import Exception Report" if the price has been reduced for the 2009 crop year. The plant names will be imported into the 2009 Crop Inventory Valuation Estimate with the reduced prices. For all plants, you should update quantities and catalog prices to the 2009 crop year amounts.

Note: Be certain to print the "Import Exception Report" when importing files. The report will automatically be generated before a file is imported. It will list plants that, for one reason or another, have not been included in the import. If you desire to have those plants included on the 2009 inventory report, you must manually enter them. In most cases, the reason is listed. However, one catchall heading is "Unable to import these plants." Some of the reasons for a plant name to appear under this heading are: an internal serial number was changed for the plant by DataScape; no detail was listed for the plant in the imported file; or some data for that plant was corrupt. Plants that have had plant type changes, name changes, or other changes not affecting insurability will also be shown on the report. If there are no changes to be reported, the report will be empty.

Hint: The "Import Exception Report" will only be available at the initial import of the list, so you must preview or print it at that time. If you forget, you could import the list again to preview or print the "Import Exception Report" and then cancel the process or delete the second imported list.

If an inventory for a client other than the currently selected client is imported, a pop-up box will appear asking for confirmation that you want the imported inventory to be listed for the currently selected client

When importing a new inventory for the current client, a pop-up box will appear showing the state and county of the inventory that has been chosen for import. You may change the state and/or county by clicking on the down arrow at the right of the line. The "Import Exception Report" will display a line showing that the county and/or state have been changed at the time of import. Be aware that some plants from the previous inventory list may not be insurable if the county hardiness zone is different from the county hardiness zone used for the original list. Plants that are no longer insurable after this action will appear on the "Import Exception Report" under the heading "These plants have hardiness zone problems." They will no longer be insurable after changing the state and/or county.
