MGR-17-006: Delays in Terminating Crops Due to Adverse Weather Conditions

Background 

Producers in Southwest Oklahoma and Northern Texas have recently been affected by wet weather, muddy field conditions and in some cases excessive winds, which have delayed the normal and customary timeframe for mechanical or chemical termination of crops used for winter grazing (oftentimes small grains). The generally mild winter months along with the weather-related delays may, in some situations, cause producers the inability to fully terminate the crops prior to the onset of some of the plants reaching the headed or budded stage.

PM-19-025: Rainfall Index Annual Forage Plan of Insurance - Modifications Effective for 2020 and Succeeding Crop Years

Background

The Federal Crop Insurance Corporation's (FCIC) Board of Directors (Board) approved revisions to the Annual Forage Plan of Insurance on April 23, 2019. The following modifications to the Rainfall Index Annual Forage (AF) Plan of Insurance are effective beginning with the 2020 crop year:

MGR-18-017: Multi County Enterprise Unit (MCEU) – 2019 and Succeeding Crop Years

Background

As announced today, Risk Management Agency (RMA) has developed the Multi-County Enterprise Unit (MCEU) Endorsement in response to requests to incorporate small amounts of acreage from one county into an enterprise unit for a contiguous county. The MCEU Endorsement attaches to eligible Common Crop Insurance Policy, Basic Provisions, and Crop Provisions for the insured crop and allows a producer to combine acreage of an insured crop, by irrigation practice, if applicable, in two contiguous counties in the same state into one enterprise unit (EU).

PM-16-058: Revised Crop Provisions for the 2017 and succeeding crop years

Background

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) published a Final Rule with Comment in the Federal Register, effective for the 2017 and succeeding crop years, which revised the Crop Provisions that contained Prevented Planting coverage levels for all crops with a 2017 contract change date on or after November 23, 2016, and for the 2018 and succeeding crop years for all crops with a 2017 contract change date prior to November 23, 2016.
